                                                                 Apple files new patent for sub-display design on the back

According to foreign media reports, Apple recently applied for a new design patent, which can see a secondary display on the back of the iPhone and iPad.

Another patent shows a redesigned MacBook Pro with a curved display and a new Touch Bar configuration. Apple is rumored to be ditching the Touch Bar on new MacBook Pro models later this year, though.

According to PatentlyApple, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published 77 patent applications granted to Apple this week, which contain interesting technological developments and a small number of novel MacBook, iPad and iPhone designs. For example, one patent application envisages a secondary display on the back of an iPad or iPhone that could be used to provide information about the subject being photographed to the user.

This is apparently a design we've never seen on an iPhone before. According to the patent application, the display will also have multi-touch technology. One of the points of the secondary display is to make the subject pay attention to the camera and smile when the shot is about to be taken.

Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently released a new investor note claiming that Apple plans to launch two new MacBook Pro models later this year. Both models will reportedly feature a slightly new design and will include traditional physical function keys instead of a Touch Bar.
